This article is excerpted from the new book Extraordinary Birds: Rare Book Selections from the American Museum of Natural History Library (Sterling Signature, ), which comes with 40 ready-to-frame bird monograph was edited by Paul Sweet, collections manager in the Museum’s Department of Ornithology.
